Indie Author of the Week!Nikki LanierDr. Nikki R. Lanier is a distinguished labor attorney, public speaker, author, and advisor, renowned for her expertise in equity, human resources, systems thinking and organizational effectiveness and the future of work. She is the CEO and founder of Harper Slade, a firm dedicated to creating workplaces where multiculturalism thrives as a risk mitigation strategy and macroeconomic imperative. Having held executive positions in various industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, education, and consulting, Dr. Lanier has served as a three-time Chief Human Resources Officer in both the private and public sectors and held an executive position with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis as the Senior Vice President and Regional Executive of the Louisville Branch . In this capacity, she connected the public, business leaders, and community bankers with the Federal Reserve, overseeing community development and economic education initiatives. Dr. Lanier earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Hampton University. She also holds a certification in Collective Bargaining from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. Her insights and thought leadership on the future of work and business have been featured in prominent media outlets such as Ebony Media, Forbes, NPR, Essence, USA Today, CNBC, and PBS. |

PenCrafters Mentorship Program Session 1 Zoom Meeting- March 16th, 7:00PMPenCrafters is designed for writers who want more than encouragement. It’s for writers who want access. This mentorship connects you with seven experienced mentors, each offering a distinct perspective and specialty within the writing and publishing world. That range means you are not receiving a single opinion or being guided down one narrow path. Instead, you gain insight across the entire journey of becoming a working author. PenCrafters meets Monday evenings at 7:00 PM via Zoom for a seven-week session. Each week features a one-hour presentation led by a different mentor, providing direct access to industry professionals. All sessions are recorded and available for later viewing. Zoom link will be provided closer to the event. Our mentors include authors, publishers, editors, publicists, and writing conference owners, offering guidance that spans craft, publishing strategy, visibility, and long-term career sustainability. Participants will also retain access to the mentors beyond the program, extending the value well past the final session. Meet Stephen Zimmer at our Shepherdsville location during an Ink Happens Signing Event - March 21st, from noon until 4 PM. He will be introducing his newest two novels.Stephen Zimmer is an award-winning author, editor, podcaster, and publisher based out of Lexington, Kentucky. A writer in several genres of speculative fiction, Stephen currently has 33 books in print. The editor-in-chief of Seventh Star Press, a small press with multiple imprints, Stephen founded and co-directs The Imaginarium Convention, a 12th year annual convention held in Louisville, Kentucky for writers and storytellers of all genres. Stephen is also the co-host of the weekly Star Chamber Show live podcast, hosted on PodBean. He is an active member of the Bluegrass Writers Coalition, the Kentucky State Poetry Society, and the Chicago Writers Association! |
