Indie Author of the Week!David KummerDavid Kummer is a young writer who leans towards horror, mystery, thrillers, and young adult fiction. His books are fast-paced, easy-to-read, with shocking twists and unpredictable endings. His new series is The House on the Hill, a new type of haunted house trilogy focusing on one family and the small town under attack. It's creepy enough for horror readers, but character-focused and plot-driven, so it's perfect for anyone who enjoys a good mystery novel. He grew up in Madison, Indiana, a small town on the Ohio River, with lots of history and settings around that influence his books. Now he lives in New Albany with his fantastic wife. When he’s not writing, he’s a full-time English teacher for 9th graders. He also enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors. |

Introducing Author, Dr. Nikki Lanier, Saturday, September 27, from 1 PM - 3 PM @ our LaGrange LocationDr. Nikki R. Lanier is a distinguished labor attorney, public speaker, author, and advisor, renowned for her expertise in equity, human resources, systems thinking and organizational effectiveness and the future of work. She is the CEO and founder of Harper Slade, a firm dedicated to creating workplaces where multiculturalism thrives as a risk mitigation strategy and macroeconomic imperative. Dr. Lanier’s book, “Uncommon Ground” stands apart in a landscape of parenting resources. It recognizes a subtle yet powerful reality: many children grow up surrounded by sameness. Their neighborhoods, schools, and social circles often echo their own backgrounds, customs, and perspectives. Even within the rhythms of family life, similarity quietly reigns. While these environments are typically well-intentioned, they can inadvertently teach that safety is synonymous with sameness and that “different” means “danger.” Yet, mothers hold the power to lovingly rewrite this narrative. Uncommon Ground is both gentle and powerful—a companion for those who wish to challenge assumptions, broaden horizons, and foster a worldview that celebrates difference rather than fears it. |
