Indie Author of the Week!Eva VertriceShe didn’t always love to write. Let’s face it, she didn’t even know she could until her forties. But she always had in the back of her mind the bucket list item to write a book. Now, she honestly doesn’t know if she added it to the list with the intent of ever doing it, or if it was just one of those things you add with no intention of ever actually doing, but it sounds good. Kinda like jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. Never going to happen to this chick. She has, however, always loved reading. That love of reading was what gave her the push to sit down and take a story she had been noodling for several years and bring it to life. What she was not completely prepared for was how much she would love the process. From typing that first word, to holding it in her hands, to meeting others who love the story as much as she does. She’s completely hooked. In between writing, she square dances, coaches’ soccer, volunteers for The Keeneland Concours (which raises money for the NICU of the UK Children’s hospital, a great cause), spend lots of hours on the computer, either writing or managing social media, and she tries to have a little bit of fun in between. She doesn’t get to watch TV or read very often, so it’s a treat when she finds the time. She loves Mardi Gras masks, Funko Pops, Arensbak trolls, marigold carnival glass and she’s not afraid to admit that she has an impressive collection of comic books. She lives with her four dogs, Taz, Maggie, Beannie & Hopie, and her two guinea pigs, Oliver and Omen. If she could describe herself in one word, it would be “unique”. She thinks all of her friends would also agree. She’s always been her own person and that’s just how she likes it. |
