Indie Author of the Week!Denise WattsEducator, trainer, author, and gospel singer, Denise was educated in the New York City Public School System, graduating, with honors, with an academic diploma from the George W. Wingate High School in Brooklyn. She received her B.A. (Magna Cum Laude) in Psychology and Elementary Education from the Hunter College of the City University of New York. She has two Masters degrees from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary: The Master of Arts in Christian Education and the Master of Divinity in Christian Education. Professional Credentials include lifetime teaching certificates in Texas (K - 6) and Kentucky (1—8); license (1985) and ordination (1988) to ministry by the Brentwood Baptist Church of Houston Texas certification to direct day care in the Commonwealth of Kentucky; certification as a Founding Circle member, DISC trainer, Family Guide, and Youth Leadership Coach; of the Maxwell Leadership Certified Team of Coaches, Speakers, and trainers, US Constitution Coach with Patriot Academy A retired public school teacher, Denise served 23 years in Houston, Texas, Spring, Texas and Louisville, Kentucky and continues as a substitute teacher in Oldham County Kentucky Public Schools. Denise has served various ministerial positions, both full-time and bi-vocationally, in Brooklyn, New York, Louisville, La Grange, Shelbyville, Maysville and West Point, KY, including briefly as the first female Chaplain in the Texas Army National Guard -- for a total of more than 35 years. Denise enjoys combining her gifts of drama and music to the glory of God, traveling around the Commonwealth of Kentucky to encourage and inspire audiences with her brand of Southern Gospel music. In June 2013 Denise travelled with the Maxwell Leadership’s first International Leadership Transformation Mission to Guatemala where she was one of 150 who trained 16,000 Guatemalans to lead their national Transformation initiative. Since then, Denise has served with Maxwell Leadership transformation teams in Paraguay (2015, 2017, 2019), Costa Rica (20180, the Dominican Republic (2021 and 2022; Tupulo, MS (2022) Branson, MO (2022), Papua New Guinea (2022) and Panama (2023). Currently, Denise is self-employed as a Speaker, and Transformational Life Coach. Her podcast, Mining the Gold, posts twice weekly on Facebook and YouTube.
